Loved the graphics, story great! And again the characters and skils were fantastic. Loooved it. Lol! Finished it a few days ago, and am loving the side quests. Whats everyone elses impressions?
I agree completely. I hate prophecies and factions got boring really quick (The monestary missions+quests SUCK.) Nightfall has fired up my GW activity greatly. I'm not bored at all yet.

I think I like Tyria best, Cantha is pretty boring, I liked Elona, eventhough most early mission were too easy and the bonuses were completely uninspired, but it was still ok and then I reached Realm of Torment after that I hated Elona. I have finished the game with my Paragon but I won't be looking forward to bringing other characters through Realm of Torment. I'm not even bothering with Realm of Anguish that's just over the top.

forgive me if it sounds cheesy but i loved all three=).for all of you who hated factions,i remember seeing lots of people there so maybe some of you were hating the game you were currently playing?i dunno maybe you did 1 mish then went to proph and never came back(i doubt).seems to me that if everyone disliked it so much the population would have been much smaller.that just my opinion though.and to the op nightfall has changed gw for me,more new challenges and more fun to be had.

Nightfall was like a happy medium between factions and prophercies. Definitely better then factions, but no where near as good as prophercies.

But ive actually found over the last year of playing, and from taking my main character through all three, that I prefere factions to nightfall.

I cant really explain why other then it feels a bit more satisfying and fun to do.

Nightfall got very very very annoying nearer the end from my experience. The end missions arent impossible, but they are frustrating. It seemed like a bit of an anti-climax.

Obviously factions is a huge anti-climax, but you still get more of a kick from playing it.

But overall neither compare to prophercies.

Nightfall's middle bit was great.
But the training island drags far too slowly and the Realm of Torment is very tired and frustrating. The design is a generic "Oooo! Bad guys MUST come from a really dank, dark, depressing place!" kinda deal. Thoroughly uninspired.
And it started to get rough around the Desolation area. Wurms were over-used, and again, it had a dark, depressing feel to it. Not really what I want when I'm trying to enjoy myself.

My favourite area in all 3 games is the Crystal Desert.
In fact, that's what saved the Desolation for me; cresting that rise in Crystal Overlook and being greeted by the open blue skies of the Crystal Desert with its imposing monuments of an ancient era. Nobody had told me about this, although I suspected from the name that it had some link to the Crystal Desert.
Then finding that I could actually use a teleporter to get there finished it off for me. Brilliant

If only there were more such places that physically linked the campaigns together. That'd be ACE.

Nightfall has brought me back to Guild Wars. After I'd finished Prophecies, which I loved -the first time through-, I sort of languished in whether or not I wanted to keep playing since I have little interest in PvP/GvG. Factions just sounded like more of the same so I skipped it completely but I watched NF's development with interest. I asked my husband to get it for me for Christmas, which he did and is probably sorry for so doing.

I love Nightfall enough that it's making me rethink whether or not I want to get Factions just so I can say I have them all.

I would actually recommend getting factions. Im usually the first person to say its the worst one and it is. The story sucks and its not as polished.

But the odd thing is that ive found myself enjoying it more then the others recently. Its good if you want to just jump right in and lvl up fast and get everything straight away and its basically like the fast shoot-em-up of all the games.

If you find your sick of long jepody and want to do things faster, then its for you. Its almost like light-relief when your kind of sick of working hard in the other two.

QFT, I can't stand it when games try to create a dark, desolate, dreary, bleak hell-like type of place for the bad dudes. It just makes for boring environments that make me wish I was somewhere else. DOA is even more guilty of this than the main campaign.

I started playing this game with Nightfall and have since run once through Prophecies and Factions. I have to say Factions is the game that is going to make me keep playing GW for a long time. I love the PvE environments (the city and the jade sea are awesome IMO) and the challenge is much higher than Prophecies (which is just a total pansy game except for a few parts), especially if you try to get masters on the missions. The voice acting in Factions has to be some of the worst I have EVER heard though.

More importantly Factions has all kinds of PUG PvP which I have completely fallen in love with. Being a member of a tiny (7 members) guild of real life friends we never did GvG or HA or any of that really cool looking stuff, so I was always jealous of those game types. But since I got factions I have been playing all sorts of AB and also the competitive missions and I couldn't be happier.

Go Cantha!

I can't stand Nightfall. It's not that it's too easy, just... The lack of players. As much as I hate using PuGs, I miss them. It gets mighty boring using heros and henchman after a while. And most of the first part of Nightfall (after the introduction island) is just desert =/ I know it gets kind of better, but it's still mostly desert.

Prophecies is and always will be my favourite. The landscapes and diversity of all the areas draws me in. Many towns and outposts are empty these days, which is sad, but using Heros/Henchman in these areas doesn't bother me, because I'm too busy watching my surroundings. I mentioned disliking the desert in Nightfall, but in Tyria it was... different... I had things to look at, something to look forward to seeing. But by far the best time in Tyria is Pre-Searing. I often just go back and clear all the maps, and hang out in town, just because I enjoy being there.

I'm probably looking into this waaaaay too much, but hey, a man's allowed to dream right? ^_^
How far along are you in Nightfall? The first half of the game is pretty much Hero and hench territory with few PUGs. Wait till you get closer to Torment then you'll see a lot more people looking for actual players instead of Heroes.
